News from the Erasmus+ KA2 DiTwin project: the platform for students and teachers is now online

For almost two years, our Irish agency, Training Vision, has been a partner in the European Erasmus+ KA2 DiTwin project, dedicated to digital innovation in technical and vocational education. During this time, the consortium has worked steadily to develop concrete tools for teachers and students, with a clear goal: to make Digital Twin technologies accessible and usable in education.

The new free platform

One of the most significant results has just been completed: the creation of the DiTwin platform, now freely available in all partner languages. Through this tool, students and teachers can access training modules, lesson plans, and both virtual and remote labs, directly experiencing the potential of digital twins in educational settings.

Access is simple and consists of four steps:

  • Fill out the online reservation form indicating the desired period.
  • Receive a confirmation email from the technical team (University of Malaga and Digital Smart) with practical details.
  • Connect to the communication tools and install the free AnyDesk software for remote control.
  • Attend the live session, with the physical lab already prepared and supported by the technical staff.

This system allows anyone to program robots, conduct virtual experiments, or test simulated production lines, experiencing an immersive and innovative approach without location constraints or high costs.

The Malaga meeting: testing and partner exchange

The recent 3rd Transnational Project Meeting and the international training course held in Malaga (July 2025) served as a testing ground for the platform. Partners from Italy, Spain, Ireland, Greece, and Poland had the opportunity to try it out directly, exchanging feedback and evaluations. Practical sessions demonstrated how digital twins can enhance learning: from robot programming to industrial process simulation, up to the use of virtual reality and remote laboratories.

The discussions confirmed the value of the path taken: integrating simulation, immersive environments, and remote-connected labs makes the learning experience more flexible, safe, and engaging.

Looking ahead

At the same time, the consortium is working on the DiTwin Handbook, a manual that will collect guidelines and best practices for adopting digital twins in technical and vocational education. This will be another important step to promote the dissemination and use of this innovative technology.
With the platform now online, the project marks an important milestone, offering an open and inclusive virtual laboratory to support the education of the future.
