“Gastronomic” Job Shadowing in Rimini for the Teachers from ZST in Turku

For many years, the Erasmus+ program has been supporting the professional development of teachers engaged in vocational education and training. In early May, teachers from the Zespół Szkół Technicznych in Turku had the opportunity to participate in the so-called job shadowing, which gives the opportunity to work on the field, understand the organizational culture and the acquisition of new skills.

Teachers of gastronomic subjects completed their internships at the La Cappa restaurant, serving wood-fired oven pizza, fish, and culinary specialties characteristic of coastal cuisine.
They had the opportunity to develop professional competences based on recipes and techniques of preparing and serving Italian cuisine dishes. The menu included pasta dishes with mixed seafood, hot appetizers with mussels, scallops, and squid, as well as grilled fish.

The training manager completed the internship in the administration department of Sistema Turismo, an accredited training center that deals with the promotion, organization and management of professional internships and educational programs for students, teaching staff, young workers and organizations from all over Europe.

Erasmus+ international projects are accompanied by cognitive and cultural education; apart from the historical corners of Rimini, the teachers visited the heart of Tuscany (Florence) and other beautiful places such as the picturesque hills of San Marino, the sanctuary in Loreto, Savignano sul Rubicone and the coastal town of Riccione.

Job shadowing mobility is not only about supporting personal development, gaining professional experience at the European level, making contacts or exchanging good practices; it also supports innovation and strengthens European identity and civic activity.

The Erasmus+ program changes your lives and opens your minds!”
